Tree services in Heritage Springs.

New-estate work: building-pad clearing, boundary-gum management on retained paddock trees, post-construction stump grinding so the landscaper can re-turf, and formative pruning of the advanced ornamentals planted at 3m. Heritage Springs sits next door to our Pakenham base — 60–90 min storm response.

Heritage Springs tree work

What new-estate blocks actually need.

Building-pad clearing at the start.

Most Heritage Springs builds need a small clearing job before the slab goes in — remove the 1–3 remnant paddock trees inside the slab footprint, grind stumps below excavation depth, fence off any retained boundary trees with proper AS 4970-2009 tree-protection zones so the builder doesn’t compact the root zone. Coordinated with the builder’s slab program.

Retained boundary gums.

The estate development kept many of the original paddock-fence eucalypts on the new boundaries — usually messmate, manna gum or swamp gum. After 2–5 years of disturbed soil, compacted root zones and increased wind exposure (no surrounding canopy to break the wind any more), these trees become storm-vulnerable in ways their paddock-era selves weren’t. We do a lot of year-2 and year-3 deadwood + structural assessment work to head off the storm calls.

Post-build stump grinding.

After the slab is poured and the builder leaves, the landscaper wants to re-turf cleanly. Leftover boundary stumps and construction-zone stumps need grinding to 100–150mm below grade. Our 30cm narrow-access grinder fits through the standard Heritage Springs 900mm side gate. Usually $200–$400 per stump with volume discount for sets.

Formative pruning of advanced ornamentals.

The estate landscaper plants 3m advanced ornamentals (ornamental pears, magnolias, gleditsia ‘Sunburst’, sometimes jacarandas or crepe myrtles) with crossing branches and codominant stems. A single formative-pruning visit in years 1–3 saves $5K+ in structural prune work a decade later. We do these as cheap maintenance — a row of 5–6 trees for $400–$800.
